It’s Cool to Be Kind
Teach kindness…
According to a recent Parents Magazine survey, 73% of moms say the most important value they can instill in their children is kindness. If our young supporters are any indication, you moms and dads are doing a great job!
We were inspired to create this page by all of the kids who have shown kindness and love for children in foster care by hosting donation drives and raising money for Comfort Cases.
Our goal is to support and encourage your children as they discover the joy of spreading kindness and giving to those in need.
“I chose Comfort Cases because I want to make a difference in the lives of the individuals that go through the Foster Care System. This project made me feel like I was directly touching so many lives.”

“I learned of Comfort Cases in third grade, after reading a novel about a child who grew up in the foster care system. Rob spoke to my class, inspiring me to volunteer at Comfort Cases. I have been speaking at events on their behalf, volunteering, and I completed my Mitzvah project to benefit Comfort Cases. As Rob always says, ‘Our community is not our zip code, it is our human race.’ Through my work at Comfort Cases, I truly feel that I am making a difference in the world. ”

#KIDSHELPINGKIDS
MAYA, AGE 7
Maya is a 7-year-old from Ellsworth, Maine. Maya has been hand-picking, arranging, and selling flower bouquets from her parents' garden to benefit Comfort Cases. Inspired by her friend who was adopted from foster care, Maya raised over $250 and was featured in the local newspaper for her efforts. Thank you Maya for leading by example and showing children in foster care that they matter!
JACKSON & GIULIANA
When Jackson and Giuliana learned that kids entering foster care carry trash bags and don’t have many things of their own, they wanted to help. They collected pajamas, blankets, toothbrushes, and stuffed animals for Comfort Cases. As Giuliana said in a video posted by her mom on Instagram, “We give them nice new stuffed animals because foster kids don’t want yucky old toys!”
ARYONNA MARTIN, AGE 12
Aryonna Martin is a Comfort Cases Junior Ambassador and has represented our organization at numerous pageants around the country. She hosts frequent donation drives and educates other children about the challenges facing kids in foster care. She and her mom travel from West Virginia to our national center in Maryland several times each year to pick up Comfort Cases to deliver to agencies in their state.
JAMIE, AGE 16
Jamie lives locally to our national center in Rockville, Maryland and is a frequent volunteer. When the pandemic hit, she started making masks and decided to donate the profits to Comfort Cases. She sold masks to friends and family and then offered to make BE A GOOD HUMAN masks for our Gifts That Give Back shop. Jamie raised over $1,000 and continues to make the masks for our store.
LEXI, AGE 17
Lexi started making beaded bracelets to sell on Instagram and she donates 100% of the proceeds to Comfort Cases. While she was here volunteering over the summer, she presented us with a check for $775! Find Lexi on Instagram at love.n.friendship and check out her beautiful jewelry. We love when our supporters use their talents and creativity to support our mission!
ANNABELLA BROWN, AGE 17
When AnnaBella Brown heard Rob Scheer’s story, she knew she had to do something to help children in foster care in her community. She worked with her school administrators to organize a huge packing party, contacted local media, and even went all the way to the mayor’s office. Thanks to AnnaBella’s efforts, the City of Fort Wayne, Indiana will recognize our mission each year on February 7th - Comfort Cases Day!
CALEB & EMMA, AGE 12
Twins Caleb and Emma from Nampa, Idaho celebrated their 12th birthday by raising money for Comfort Cases. They made some amazing videos and launched a social media campaign to educate their family and friends about foster care. They asked for donations and even convinced some of the adults in their lives to take a pie in the face when they hit the $1,000 and $2,000 marks! Truly a fun and creative way to give back!
LIA
Lia hosted a donation drive for Comfort Cases to earn her Girl Scout Ambassador Gold Award. She educated her family and peers about the needs of children in foster care and asked them to help. She collected hundreds of items and then packed the Comfort Cases to deliver to our national center. Thank you for making a difference Lia!
JOE DAVIS
Having been adopted himself, Joe Davis chose to do his Eagle Scout project for Comfort Cases because he wanted to help other children waiting to find their forever families. Joe rallied the support of his friends and family through social media and collected several large bins full of donations for Comfort Cases. He also raised over $550!
