Our First Marathon Packing Party Was a Huge Success!
Our first Comfort Cases Marathon Packing Party was a huge success! We packed over 2,400 cases in 24 hours and many of them are already on their way to youth in foster care all over the country.
This was truly a team effort, with nearly 400 volunteers who signed up to pack cases at all hours of the day and night, our staff who worked tirelessly to prepare for and host the event, our sponsors Perfect Glassworks and E Cohen and Company CPAs, local businesses that donated food, community members who will be delivering some of the cases, and all of our supporters around the country who donated money for shipping and items from our wish lists.
We also want to thank Fox 5 DC for covering the event on Friday morning - we saw a huge increase in traffic to our website during those hours so we know their support of our mission has a real impact.
Over the last six years, we have sent Comfort Cases to partner agencies in all 50 states, DC, and Puerto Rico. For this particular event, we packed orders to be delivered to 18 states. Local volunteers came to pick up the cases to drive them to Baltimore City DSS, Concern in Lanham, MD, and to multiple agencies in West Virginia. We also had some people reach out to us on Facebook about driving cases to Amityville, NY and Albany, OH.
Here is a list of where all of the Comfort Cases from our Marathon Packing Party will be going. We pack each order based on what the agency requests with regard to the gender and ages of the children they work with.

We are happy to report that we received over $5,000 in donations through our website and Facebook page throughout the course of the event, but we still need your help to get all of these Comfort Cases shipped to their destinations. As you can see, our first shipment of 109 boxes nearly filled the UPS truck!
With 700 children entering foster care every day, we need your continued support to eliminate trash bags from the foster care system and to provide these precious children with personal care and comfort items during their time of uncertainty. Many of these kids do not own a toothbrush. Many do not own a book. Many have never worn a new pair of pajamas. With your help, we are making a difference.
Your donation of $25, $10, or even $5, will help ensure that a child entering foster care is given a Comfort Case - not a trash bag - to carry their belongings.
